Canadian work shoes for the budget
Lac-Drolet, January 26 2009 - The Finance Minister, Mr. Jim Flaherty will wear new work shoes manufactured by L.P. Royer for the delivery of the Budget Speech. This manufacturing company, based in the Eastern Townships, in Quebec, employs more than a hundred employees and celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. L.P. Royer also launched a «Buy Canadian» awareness campaign earlier this year to entice consumers to buy Canadian and keep Canadians at work.
«We celebrate this year our 75th anniversary and we are proud that the Finance Minister has chosen to wear Royer footwear for the delivery of the Budget Speech», states Yves Royer, President of L.P. Royer and grandson of the company founder. «The quality of Royer products is internationally renowned. Our Canadian made shoes and boots are worn by all trades of the smelter, mining, chemical, forestry and electrical industries, mainly. Therefore, Budget Speech aside, Mr. Flaherty’s choice is a pragmatic one. He will also be able to wear these shoes to safely visit Canadian industries and building sites», adds Serge Boucher, L.P. Royer’s General Manager. «75 years of history, for a Canadian shoe manufacturer, is clearly worth celebrating. So we are glad to be given this opportunity to share our pride and shed light on the work on all our team members», concludes Mr. Boucher.
