I just bought a pair of your linesman boots (#40236, EEE, size 8) at Work Authority (Calgary, AB) and I love them. I have NEVER bought such a nice pair of boots!!! No real break-in period, fit tight out of the box! The quality and thought that went into these boots is impressive! This is the only pair of work boots that I've ever bought that locks my heel in place as boots are supposed to. I am an electrician (not a lisnesman) but I spend a lot of time on ladders, scafforlding, structural steel, and hanging off some strange tings occasionally so I appreciate tight fitting boots.
I spend a lot of time mountaineering. hiking, and climbing in my spare time and I can tell you that I really appreciate good, thight fitting footwear that doesn't have a bunch of excessive material in the ankle area or anywhere else for that matter like my new Royer boots. I'm glad to see Royer understands the importance of a rocker toe, solid & non-flexing shank, and Vibram (not some proprietary crap that doesn't work as good). Somebody was thinking when they put a thin tongue on these boots. People don't need a 10mm thick padded tongue like others make. I also like unlined boots - not every boot made needs Cambrelle lining and 200g of Thinsulate. I wish other mfg's could understand this.
In spite of the cost ($270.00), these boots are worth every penny, and I will likely buy another pair this week just to have as spares because I like them so much.
To all of the people at L.P. Royer who work very hard to make GREAT footwear, "Thank you very much!" Your thought effort, ideas, innovativeness, and attitude are VERY appreciated.
Thank you for making these boots in Québec, Canada! Proudly Canadian!!!
